South End Center

 South End Community Center (SECC)

The South End Community Center is a joint project of the federal, provincial and municipal governments. Under the neighbourhood improvement program the center officially opened its doors on November 28, 1978.

The center offers three free structured programs; after-school, evening and summer, all focused on providing young people with a great foundation for learning and making friends. Our programs are developed and run by dedicated, enthusiastic staff who are focused to inspire!

SECC has been home to some truly inspiring programs and opportunities over the years! Rising Stars Youth Basketball has been a longtime part of the kids lives through The South End, our evening and afterschool programs have seen events like reading programs, food programs, holiday events and our long standing Level Up program.

Level Up helps kids daily with homework and reading, as well as making sure they get the chance to play in the buildings gym and create anything they can imagine! The kids learn new things and grow as people with an amazing team of supportive staff at their back every single day!

Join us this summer for youth summer camps like Brain Gain, Leadership, and Ball Hockey camps across the greater Saint John region!

SECC’s Summer Slide program is a free education program designed to combat summer learning loss. Youth get to participate in a variety of fun math and literacy activities designed to maintain their academic levels and social-emotional opportunities during the summer break.

Youth also get to go on trips to the splash pad at Rainbow park, play soccer in the field and basketball in the gym as well as limitless art and STEM projects.

We accept children aged 5*-12 years. Children 5 years of age must be attending school in the fall

*Summer Programs may have registration prices, please check the full registration list for individual details.
