For over 121 years BGC has been working to break down systemic barriers all young people face daily. Today we offer over 25 essential programs that allow for opportunities to be provided to over 2,100 children and youth annually. From our after school program to free youth evening and specialty programming, we work hard to ensure that we are providing barrier free access to all young people in the Greater Saint John area.

Overview
Boys & Girls Clubs are the largest provider of after school programs in Canada. Our approach to working with children and youth is grounded in the latest research and meets the developmental needs of the children at a very important time in their lives.
It is estimated that 60% of children under 12 spend their after school time being home alone while being sedentary. Our program seeks to change these statistics by providing diverse, engaging, educational activities for every child that comes through our doors.
Daily/weekly schedules will be posted on the After School bulletin board and copies will be sent home with the youth. The weekly program will be provided in an open and flexible environment where playful exploration, problem solving and creativity are encouraged and planned.
The program will be offered in an intellectually, socially and culturally engaging environment where communication, literacy and respect for diversity is valued and supported.

The Boys and Girls Club of Saint John is a registered charity/non-profit that provides over 2,100 children and youth in 5 at-risk neighbourhoods across the city with a safe space during the most vulnerable hours of the day, and FREE access to life-changing programs in five key programming pillars that are purposefully designed to drive personal development:
