Inclusion Support Worker – Main Club Location

We provide challenging activities that encourage healthy living, personal growth, learning, and community involvement while following the New Brunswick Early Learning & Childcare curriculum. We build self-esteem through supportive adult mentors and engaging activities that challenge and enrich the mind, body, and spirit of each child.
The BGC Greater Saint John is currently seeking an Inclusion Support Worker. The successful candidate will join a team providing after-school programming at the BGC Greater Saint John in our Main Club location. The Inclusion Support Worker will work with the BGC team to create and follow an individual plan working with one specific child.
Your goal will be to assist the individual child with their daily routine and lead them through interacting and forming relationships with their peers, including your co-workers. As with all children who attend BGC, you will form a bond with them and foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place for them to come.
This position will begin in August 2023 with full-time hours and transition to permanent part-time hours in September 2023 when students return to school. Applicants MUST be available to work between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
Certifications:
- Current workplace Standard First Aid/CPR (16-hour course);
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or have completed a program that deals with child behavioral management or childhood exceptionalities (i.e. Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education);
- Experience working with children with exceptionalities;
- Knowledge of strategies designed to promote inclusive environments and programs in childcare;
- Work collaboratively within the after-school childcare team/program to provide an inclusive program for a child with exceptionalities;
· Clear Criminal Record and Social Development Check (conducted during the interview process);
Hours:
· Permanent Part Time: 20-30 hours/week between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm, no weekends, during the school year
· Full Time: 35 hours/week during Summer/Christmas Vacation, and March Break (Day Camps)

BGC Greater Saint John is currently seeking After School Educators. Successful candidates will join a team of Educators providing after-school programming at BGC. After School Educators will also work full-time hours on school holidays and closures, including Winter Break, March Break, and Summer Break. After School Educators will be responsible for organizing, planning, and implementing a variety of fun and engaging activities for school-age children.
This position will begin in August 2023 with full-time hours and transition to permanent part-time hours in September 2023 when students return to school. Applicants MUST be available to work between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
· College or other non-university certificate or diploma or 1 – 2 years or equivalent experience;
. Early Childhood Education Diploma is considered an asset;
· Prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting;
· Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
· Clear Social Development Background Check;
Part-time hours: 25-30 per week, Monday – Friday, 1pm-6pm. During the school year.
Full-time hours: PD days, school breaks, and summer holidays, up to 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 7:30am and 6:00pm. During school breaks.

Academic Tutor
Location: BGC Education Centre (Simonds High School)

BGC Greater Saint John has an immediate opening for Academic Tutors.
Job Summary: Academic tutor for teens.
About You: Outgoing and friendly personality. Patience is required.
Duties/ Responsibilities: Supporting teens with high school academics especially Math, Science, and English.
Required Skills/Abilities: Excellence in Math, Science, and English and the ability to teach or explain these subjects in a clear concise manner. Adhere to BGC values, Mission, Principles, and Behaviours. Dependable and reliable with respectful communication skills.
Education and Experience: Post-secondary degree or diploma is an asset. High school diploma is a must. Proven experience and/or strong background in academic support for high school teens.
Hours and Pay: 6-10 hours per week at $20 per hour. Between the hours of 5:30 and 8:00 PM.
Location: This position works out of Simonds High School located at 1490 Hickey Road, Saint John, NB and aligns with the ASDS school year schedule.
