Our Programs
Endowment Bursary
The Saint John Boys & Girls Club Endowment provides the opportunity for up to 5 youth to access their Endowment Bursary on an annual basis. $15,000 is made available to be shared amongst the lucky applicants. Check back every spring for access to the application form. The Bursary program is intended to provide financial support to qualified individuals pursuing post-secondary education.

The selection criteria are as follows:
• A Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident (Landed Immigrant);
• A financial need for assistance;
• Enrolled in a full-time course of study at a post-secondary educational institution;
• A current resident of Saint John;
• A student graduating from a local Saint John High School;
• Held a minimum cumulative average of 75% within the last academic year.
Applications must be accompanied by:
o Letter of acceptance from the post-secondary educational institute;
o Transcript of marks from previous year, if applicable;
o A reference letter, other than a family member;
o A résumé and cover letter.
Peer-Led Tutoring
This leadership program gives Grade 11 and 12 students the chance to support younger peers through tutoring while building valuable volunteer or employment experience. Tutors strengthen their communication and academic skills, contribute meaningfully to their school community, and gain confidence as mentors. As a thank-you for their commitment, eligible tutors receive a book bursary upon graduating Grade 12 a great addition to their resume and post-secondary journey.
Clean Energy Club
In this hands-on STEM program, youth explore how renewable energy works through fun, future-focused projects. From building and testing mini wind turbines to coding with Microbits, participants gain practical experience using clean energy technologies. The Clean Energy Club sparks curiosity, develops tech skills, and empowers youth to be part of the solution to today’s environmental challenges.
Satellite Youth Council
Satellite Youth Council is a school-based leadership and engagement initiative that supports youth involved in student government or interested in building a stronger school community. Participants receive mentorship, resources, and opportunities to collaborate with other student leaders across the region building confidence, school pride, and the skills to drive positive change from within.
This Way ONward
In partnership with Old Navy, this career readiness program prepares youth for the workforce with real-world job training. Participants develop professional skills through workshops, earn a certificate to boost their resume, and may even be offered employment opportunities at their local Old Navy store. This Way ONward is the perfect first step toward building confidence, earning income, and launching a successful job journey.
